Damnatio Memoriae (a play in both English and Italian) explores the role of the theatre amid the conflicts of immigration, human rights, citizenship, family, and legacy. From the clash of two theatre troupes on stage one Italian, and the other composed of foreign actors a new play emerges, revealing the history of Ancient Rome, its forgotten emperors and entangled cultural heritage, and today's unfolding stories on Mare Nostrum. It tells two versions of Shakespeare's role of the "Moor" in Titus Andronicus; shows two visions over the lost history of Africans and Arabs in Ancient Rome and Mare Nostrum. A new play on immigration in Italy and the Mediterranean Sea that unites cultures from around the world on the stage.
